Roofer

Roofers install, maintain, repair, and replace roofs using a variety of materials and methods. As part of their job, roofers will also inspect existing roofs for repair area, weatherproof, waterproof, and damp-proof roofing surfaces, foundation surfaces, floor slabs and bridge decks. They may also install various types of flashings, drain inserts and clamps.

You have good physical stamina.

You are comfortable working at heights.

Good problem-solving and math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Install, maintain, repair and replace roofing systems.
  • They work with a variety of materials including shingles, slates, shakes, roofing tiles, sheet metal, etc.
  • Weatherproofing, waterproofing, and damp-proofing various surfaces.
  • Work in industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential environments.

  • Comfortable working at heights and confined spaces as well as in all types of weather.
  • Good coordination, manual dexterity and physical stamina.

Hourly Pay

Salary Range: $28 – $34/hr (based on 2023 collective agreement Journeyperson hourly rate)
